Today, Consensys filed a lawsuit against the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The goal behind this is to ensure that Ethereum remains a vibrant and indispensable blockchain platform and to preserve access for the countless developers, market participants, and institutions who have a stake in the world’s second largest blockchain.

We took this step for two very basic reasons:
(1) the SEC should not be allowed to arbitrarily expand its jurisdiction to include regulating the future of the internet by wrongly labeling ETH a security; and
(2) the SEC’s reckless approach is bringing chaos to developers, market participants, institutions, and nations who are building or already managing critical systems running on Ethereum.

Ethereum isn't just about information being permissionless. It's about human ingenuity being permissionless.
We encourage others who feel equally aggrieved by the SEC’s aggressive regulatory actions to make their voices heard.

📢 We are aware of tweets circulating with inaccurate information about ConsenSys' terms of service.
Let's clarify one thing upfront: MetaMask does NOT collect taxes on crypto transactions and we have not made any changes to our terms to do so.
This claim is false.
At ConsenSys, our goal is to make web3 universally easy to use, access, and build upon through our suite of products.
It's important to note that the terms referenced are not new. They apply to our products that are subject to sales tax.
The tax section in our terms of service falls under the "fees and payment" section, and it exclusively pertains to products and paid plans offered by ConsenSys. For example, Infura has credit card developer subscriptions which include sales tax.
The work to #buidl#Ethereum is going strong & the #web3 community is rallying behind the next upgrade on the Ethereum roadmap—the #Shanghai/Capella upgrade. Here is all you need to know about the milestone and the staked ETH withdrawals it will enable. 🧵 1/
The Shanghai/Capella upgrade is a significant event for Ethereum and will have several implications for #stakers ⚡️, the Ethereum staking ecosystem, and #DeFi more broadly.
2/
The activation of withdrawals is likely to encourage increased participation by validators 🔧, and precipitate further #decentralization and #security of the Ethereum network.

🚀 Thrilled to announce that we have listed @MetaMask, @Infura_io, and @Trufflesuite in the new decentralized section of the Unity Asset Store to empower developers to build #web3 games!
The @MetaMask SDK will allow devs to connect their games to the MetaMask wallet, enabling users to interact with web3-enabled features within the game itself.
The @infura_io NFT API will help gaming devs retrieve NFT metadata, customize and mint NFTs.
2/ ConsenSys's zkEVM is EVM-equivalent: Build & deploy like you do on Ethereum, using all the familiar tools like @MetaMask, @trufflesuite & @infura_io ; enjoy the security of Ethereum, with the vast scalability and ultra-low fees of the zkEVM.⚙️
3/ The zkEVM testnet allows developers to deploy and test smart contracts, and migrate dapps from existing networks.⚡️
You can also bridge tokens, transfer tokens, and interact with deployed dapps listed on our upcoming ecosystem portal page.
