Welcome to Daily Thread number 399 with all the important news of #Russia's illegal war in #Ukraine.
However don't forget that it's over 3,300 days since the first invasion of sovereign Ukrainian territory by Putin. Had the West acted decisively then this wouldn't have happened.
... and leading on from that, if we fail to act decisively now or "seek peace" on the wrong terms, we will face another war and a larger crisis a few further years down the line.
Better late than never. We must support #Ukraine until Russia stops all aggression.
Plenty of news yesterday, including #France recognising #Holodomor as genocide, the IOC President desperately trying to stay friends with Uti-Puti and an armed assault on a police station in a southern republic in #Russia.
It was a loud night in occupied #Melitopol with more explosions. I really believe this small city is a big prize for #Ukraine and they may be laying the ground work now - we've seen mutiple attacks in recent days.
There were reports of sounds like this in three districts.
2/2 #Melitopol is a major transport hub and if #Ukraine can break through the ZSU should be able to get all the way to the south to end #Russia's "land bridge" to #Crimea.
Melitopol also has an airfield - this is how it looked at dawn!🔥🔥🇺🇦

UPDATE from #Melitopol - Occupiers admit the explosions but say there were no casualties.
Electricity went off in several northern suburbs of the city and at the airport soon after the missiles hit around 05:30.
Concensus of locals is there were 8-10 air strikes. #SlavaUkraini
More from #Russia on #Melitopol attack.
"due to shelling by militants of the Armed Forces of #Ukraine at 05:30, hits were recorded on the objects of the Melitopol locomotive depot. There is damage and destructions. There were no casualties."
Must be bad if they admit it!
#Ukraine's daily update on #Russia's losses is against n much lower than last week's figures.
One plane added to the totals which I reported yesterday.
Usually reliable ndependent Russian media Shot says a #Ukraine drone failed in an attack on the Gazenergoset pumping station in #Belgorod this morning.
Their sources say the tank where the UAV was aimed, turned out to be empty so nothing exploded, though debris damaged the tank.
The attack on #Melitopol has certainly caused panic among #Russia's elite and military.
There's so much traffic on the road to/from Mariupol, especially heavy army trucks, that it's been turned into an impassable mud swamp.
Hundreds of worshippers turned up at the sacred Kyiv-Perchersk Lavra today.
It's deadline day for #Moscow-aligned priests to vacate the site. Among those seen in the crowd was World Heavyweight Boxing Champ Aleksandr Usyk.
British Intel update reveals what I reported a good few days ago, the relief of the O0506 route. #Bakhmut can be saved with good tanks on the way!
Another Russian plane has been downed.
In the early hours of this morning, #Ukraine reports "units of anti-aircraft missile forces of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian Su-24M bomber."
An explosion was recorded near an air base on #Crimea today.
The Occupiers had no option but to acknowledge the rising pall of smoke. Yet they again claim #Russia's air defence shot down a drone, despite a huge crater at the site.
Russia says the UAV fell into a field.
#Ukraine's General Staff admits #Russia has had "partial success" in #Bakhmut but the city is still under their control:
"The enemy continues its assault on Bakhmut, with partial success. However, our defenders courageously hold the city, repel numerous enemy attacks."
Over 3,000 activists are supporting #Ukraine in the Occupied territories through the "Yellow Ribbon" resistance campaign.
An interesting insight here with one organiser. He says about 30 have been arrested and some have died.
#Russia's forward momentum in #Ukraine appears to have stalled and splits and tensions are starting to show among the illegal invaders, from the top down.
Here's another daily thread with #Ukraine news updated throughout the day.
As usual, here's a handy link to yesterday's thread for those who missed anything, such as some tasty fires, a kicking 'priest' and sadly, more war crimes and devastation.
