670 more soldiers losing their lives needlessly and at some point today the 185,000th troop will be killed in #Ukraine fighting a non-existent cause for a regime in Moscow as sick as Hitler's Nazis.
Fuel tanks destroyed high again.
Overnight #Russia launched another drone attack, this time in the #Dnipropetrovsk region.
All six attack UAVs were shot down.
So far at least relatively few reports of attacks on population centres today. #SaveUkraine
The renaming of #Russia's forces is the rather mundane daily update from London on the war on #Ukraine.
#Ukraine still holds the western part of the town in #Donetsk. Relatively few troops are there and they are rotated often to keep them fresh. Almost like a small attack force, they go in, attack #Russia's positions and move out 3-4 days later.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is in #Kyiv.
Jens Stoltenberg's unannounced visit started with a commemmoration to fallne #Ukraine soldiers on Mykhailivska Square in the centre of the capital. #StandWithUkraine
Last night I posted a photo of damage in #Vuhledar but wasn't sure it was new.
Now soldiers of the 72nd OMBr. have confirmed an airstrike by #Russia demolished the residential block in the town. They released these photos and wrote about "the deaths of peaceful people."
1/2 #Russia says two drones have crashed inside its territory.
One UAV, alleged to have been launched by #Ukraine, was brought down "by electronic warfare" just short of the village of Murom in #Belgorod region. Explosives were being carred by the drone.
#Ukraine's investigating after an unauthorised plot went wrong.
Various personnel thought a pilot in #Russia would defect + fly his plane to Kirovohrad region. But Russian found out and bombed the airfield, killing 1 person and destroying 2 jets.
This one's interesting - an electronics factory is on fire in #Moscow.
The "Kvant" complex on the outskirts of #Russia's capital reported a blaze on the second floor. The building was evacuated. They produce TVs for Chinese companies but could help the war effort
The 'neutrtal' country has also taken action against the "news agency" RIA FAN, which is owned by Wagner's founder Yevhen Prigozhin. The Swiss realised it's spreading pro-#Russia propaganda and disinformation.
A 59 year old man's the latest civilian victim of #Russia's war.
He was killed when rockets hit the village of #Kizomys, on the banks of the river Dnipro, in #Kherson region this afternoon.
#Russia recently worked out #Ukraine's tactics so I can write about it now. They'd "let" Russians drive them out of a building, but only after laying explosives. When the maximum number of invaders were inside for shelter, boom🧨🔥
Just disgusted that #Germany placed an entry ban on Aiden, which prevents him returning to his home/family in #Ukraine.
He's a hero; does🇩🇪 think he's a criminal?
#Russia's army doing their best to sabotage the war effort again.
Some kind driver managed to overturn this anti-aircraft missile system near the village of Prudne, in #Tula region. They say it's worth about $160m.
Sadly looks like it may still be usable.

Day 1201 of Europe's war.
But the pre-conflict hybrid war has already been waging worldwide for years. Hacking, election interference, sabotage - we're all targeted by Russia, even if we don't all realise it yet.
Ukraine can stop the war criminal with our help.
Welcome to the🧵
Maybe Sunday will bless Ukraine with a quiet day?
Saturday was another full-on journalistic stint, catching sleep when I could.
Kharkiv shattered overnight then a daytime attack on a kids' railway.
Operation Web 2.0 & a factory hit in Russia.
It's all ⬇️
1/2 Early this morning, just before the end of the previous thread I showed the Azot chemical plant in Tula region on fire.
Not long afterwards, Ukraine hit another facility, this time in Russia-controlled 🇺🇦
This is the Hydromash factory in Melitopol' in occupied Zaporizhzhia.
Day 1194 of Putin's war, though let's remember the initial invasion came 11 years ago.
Since February 2014, not once have western sanctions or military support come close to being enough to restore justice and defeat evil.
Welcome to THE daily 🇺🇦 thread for Sunday 1 June
A new day, a new season. Summer officially started, but nothing is likely to change just yet.
Y'day's thread had some great stories, but everything paled into insignificance when justy before midnight came news of a disaster in Russia's Bryansk region:
Another night of no sleep yet - dramatic action in Moscow.
Time to start another daily thread covering everything to do with Putin's disastrous 'operation' in Ukraine.
It's 5am in Russia and Ukraine, on Day 1190 of the war.
Let's begin...
I've still NEVER missed even one day since the start of Russia's full invasion.
But yesterday's thread ended up being one of the most lively. Another near 50-post story of the day, and if you like seeing "bavovna" in Russia, go right through to the end!
Good morning on Day 1176 of the war in Europe.
In my opinion, Ukraine should have won this war in 2022/23.
Effective leadership is based on good, decisive decisions. Sadly, the allies have never been decisive, preferring dithering and half measures.
Welcome to my daily thread:
What I mean by dithering is endless internal political battles in most countries to give adequate weapons. Scholz (Taurus), Biden (everything) the most obvious examples, though Joe was hampered by Congress and is way better than now
But it's always enough to survive, not to win
If you missed anything from yesterday, catch up with this link to the start of yesterday's thread. Scroll down to where you got to and complete your knowledge!
