1/ About #DrOki, the @TheBMA - and some of the responses I am seeing from "random" people.

RACISM is a DREADFUL experience for those of us who are not WHITE, who have to experience a form of hate crime that centres around "White is superior, any other race is lesser than"

2/ #Racism in the form that we know it today, centres around Eugenics spread by EUROPEANS as they sailed around the world, invading non-European lands and subjugating the populations they found.

It involve(s)(d):
1) ABUSE 2) MISTREATMENT 3) MURDER 4) SLAVERY, 5) HUMILIATION etc

3/ The issue we have today is that:
When BLACK people/ASIAN people/ARABS/CHINESE (anyone who isn't white) points out how UGLY, EVIL, PAINFUL racism is:
There's a white person somewhere who feels awkward/fragile/emotional and to feel better - they have to SHUT DOWN minority voices

4/ What has happened to @tee_kayoki (and many others who dare to speak UNAPOLOGETICALLY) on the UGLY truth about Racism is that:

A WHITE person felt UNCOMFORTABLE being confronted with the reality of what racism is, therefore they have pushed to SILENCE #DrOki

SIMPLE AS THAT

5/ We see this white push back every time a person of colour raises their concerns publicly about RACISM, discrimination, prejudice and harm done in the name of racism.

We saw #MeghanMarkle experience similar to what we see with #DrOki - silenced by British media and monarchy

6/It is astounding that @TheBMA acted in such a reactionary manner towards #DrOki.
The truth of the matter is Dr Oki spoke for the majority of BLACK DRs, probably also for Asian doctors- the difference is: not all of us are brave enough to speak our truth. Silenced by the system

7/ That system is that silences BLACK/BROWN/MUSLIM etc voices is a system that is predominantly led and influenced by WHITE people.

The medical field in the UK is predominantly WHITE, white people hold MAJORITY of powerful positions in the @NHSuk & indeed the @TheBMA

SYSTEMIC

8/ The positive that has so far happened with regards to @tee_kayoki #DrOki is that quite a lot of DRs from across the diversity spectrum including white DRs have come out to support Dr Oki (rightly so).

RACISM is UGLY, its impact on PoC is TERRIBLE, they must be able to speak

9/ On this note, I would like to raise everyone's awareness to a theatre show called #ForBlackBoys currently showing at Apollo London.
Featuring @eman_akwafo amongst other very talented Black men.
It looks at how BLACK people have to navigate a UK that is designed to LIMIT PoC

In particular white people who do not understand what it is like to be a BLACK person in the UK... #ForBlackBoys provides a nice insight into people's lived experiences.
