So, they demonized or distorted some of the most iconic symbols and deities of Vedic era.

Devi Lajja Gauri's renaming as "Shameless Woman" is one such classic example of Western appropriation of Hinduism.

Lets explore the mystic world of Devi Lajja Gauri.

1. The Maa Devi of creation - Aditi as Lajja Gauri

Devi, the Great Mother Goddess of creation of ancient Vedic times, in Her form as Lajja Gauri, is also known as Aditi, AdyaShakti, Renuka wife of sage Jamadagni, who is worshipped for fertility as Matangi and Yallamma(everybody's mother), Kotari, Kotavi (a nude folk goddess), KottaMahika, Kotmai, and many other names.She is the most ancient Goddess form in the religious complex that is today referred to as Sanatan Dharma.

Rig Veda, I.89.10 says that:
अदितिरद्यौर आदितिरन्तरिक्षहं आदितिर्मता स पिता स पुत्र .
विश्वे देव आदितिः पञ्च जन आदितिर्जतं आदितिर्जनित्वम् .
Meaning:
Aditi is the sky - Aditi is the air - Aditi is all the gods - Aditi is the Mother, the Father, and Son - Aditi is whatever shall be born.

2. Aditi Uttanapada - The Devi maa of fertility and
creation and most ancient form of Lajja Gauri

The most elemental and symbolically potent Lajja Gauri representation is the birth giving (uttanapad) pot goddess. This imagery is characterized by human legs in uttanapad pose with a shape above the legs that resembles both a pot and a female’s lower torso. The figure has no upper torso and there are no breasts, arms, or head. The pot torso resembles a brimming vase, or purna kumbha.

Rig Veda, X.72.3-4 says this about Devi Aditi:

देवअं युगे प्रथमे.असतह सदाजयायत
अदास अन्वजयन्ता तदुत्तनपदस परि

भउर्जजना उत्थानपदो भुव असा अजाय
न्तादितेर्दक्षोअजायता दक्षद् वदितिः परि

Meaning:
In the first age of the gods, existence was born from nonexistence. The quarters of the sky were born from Her who crouched with legs spread. The Earth was born from Her who crouched with legs spread, and from the Earth the quarters of the sky were born.

📚 Let's turn the pages of history to remember the
Fallens who stood for their Dharma.

1. Winds of the Time

Mughals had two points of administration in Punjab, Sarhind and Lahore. Mughals who ruled from Delhi appointed two governors at Sarhind and Lahore, under these governors there were many Nawabs, like Malerkotla, Faridkot, Bahawalpur, etc,. Under the Nawabs there were many Parganahs i.e. Zamindars, or landlords who would hold many villages as their land, on these villages' farmers, ironsmith, carpenters, etc. work and were taxed 67% of their income.

2. The Tyrant of Persia and Galughara
Nadir Shah attacked Bharat in 1739. He looted and murdered every one on his way to Delhi and ransacked North India. He deafted Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah in the battle of Karnal.
The battle lasted for less than three hours and the Mughal emperor, Muhammad Shah surrendered. Both the rulers now entered Delhi on 12 March 1739 and Delhi was handed over to Nadir Shah, along with all its treasures. He occupied Shah Jahan's royal suite in the Red Fort and held a great durbar in the capital the next day.
However, as soon as Nadir Shah ascended the throne of Delhi, riots sparked off in the streets of Delhi in which a number of Persian soldiers were killed. When, Nadir Shah saw the bodies of Persian soldiers in the streets, he was disturbed and enraged. He ordered a general massacre of Delhi, which was also known as the infamous “Qatal-e-am”. During this massacre, the citizens of Delhi were looted and raided. Many locations of Delhi like Dariba Kalan, Fatehpuri, Chandni Chowk, Hauz Kazi, Faiz Bazar, Lahori, Johri Bazar, Ajmeri and Kabuli gates, were soon covered with corpses of both Hindus and Muslims. There were many who resorted to killing themselves and their wives and children instead of submitting to the Persians. Nadir Shah slaughtered everyone in the city for 6 hours in a day and killed lakhs of people in the city.
The whole city of Delhi was destroyed, looted, plundered and ruined by the army of Nadir Shah. Nadir Shah took with him the Peacock throne built by Shah Jahan. He also took the legendary “Koh-i-noor” diamond. Besides this, he plundered gold worth 10 million rupees, 600 million rupees worth of jewellery, and coins worth 6 million rupees. Historian said that his overall collection after invading India, was 700 million rupees worth, including 7000 craftsmen, 200 carpenters, 100 stone-cutters and thousands of elephants, horses and camels, which he took with him to Persia.
After the return of Nadir Shah to Persia, titular Mughal governor of Lahore Abdus Samad Khan was appointed as the governor of Multan and his son Zakarya Khan was appointed the Governor of Lahore. Zakarya Khan was a tyrant and religious fanatic. To stamp his authority he hobnobbed with Persians. When Nadir Shah had captured him, Nadir Shah asked him, how shall he treat him.
Zakarya Khan replied, "If you are soldier cut my head, if you are a trader, you can trade with me, if you are a king i can be your obedient servant!!
Nadir Shah bemused by his reply spared his life. Zakarya khan started lynching Sikh populace to subdue them.
He started offering reward of a blanket for cutting hairs of a Sikh, 10 Rupees for information about a Sikh and 50 rupees for cutting the head of a Sikh. He made destroying sikh homes and fields lawful through his decree!!
He died in 1745 and his eldest Son Yahya Khan became new Governor of Lahore. Known for his perrenial hatred for Sikhs and non muslims, he was supported by his Wazir Lakhpat Rai in his administrative and military affairs.
During one of the skirmishes with Sarbati Khals army of Sikhs, brother of Lakhpat Rai was killed. Furious Lakhpat Rai attacked Sikh khalsa army with full might, massacring most of them and captured 3000 of them. These 3000 prisoners were taken to Lahore and beheaded in public for setting an example. The place of beheading later on became known as Shahid Ganj.
This massacre is known as 1st Gallughara (Holocaust of Sikhs) of Sikhs. The date was 10th March 1746.

Let's turn the pages of history to revice the gory memories of Hindu genocide which started 1500 years ago by Mohammad Bin Tughlaq's invasion of Sindh, and it is still going on!!

1. The onslaught

The genocide suffered by the Hindus and Sikhs of India at the hands of Arab, Turkish, Mughal and Afghan occupying forces for a period of 800 years is as yet formally unrecognised by the World.

The only similar genocide in the recent past was that of the Jewish people at the hands of the Nazis.

The holocaust of the Hindus in India was of even greater proportions, the only difference was that it continued for 800 years, till the brutal regimes were effectively overpowered in a life and death struggle by the Sikhs in the Punjab and the Hindu Maratha armies in other parts of India in the late 1700’s.

We have elaborate literary evidence of the World’s biggest holocaust from existing historical contemporary eyewitness accounts. The historians and biographers of the invading armies and subsequent rulers of India have left quite detailed records of the atrocities they committed in their day-to-day encounters with India’s Hindus.

2. The Scale

These contemporary records boasted about and glorified the crimes that were committed – and the genocide of tens of millions of Hindus, mass rapes of Hindu women and the destruction of thousands of ancient Hindu / Buddhist temples and libraries have been well documented and provide solid proof of the World’s biggest holocaust.

Dr. Koenraad Elst in his article “Was There an Islamic Genocide of Hindus?” states:
“There is no official estimate of the total death toll of Hindus at the hands of Islam. A first glance at important testimonies by Muslim chroniclers suggests that, over 13 centuries and a territory as vast as the Subcontinent, Muslim Holy Warriors easily killed more Hindus than the 6 million of the Holocaust. Ferishtha lists several occasions when the Bahmani sultans in central India (1347-1528) killed a hundred thousand Hindus, which they set as a minimum goal whenever they felt like punishing the Hindus; and they were only a third-rank provincial dynasty.

The biggest slaughters took place during the raids of Mahmud Ghaznavi (ca. 1000 CE); during the actual conquest of North India by Mohammed Ghori and his lieutenants (1192); and under the Delhi Sultanate (1206-1526).”
if you read the Muslim historian account of Chach Nama by Abu Bakr Kufi, you will see how Muslim invaders rejoiced and reveled in the massacres of the kafirs (Hindus) and desecration of their idols and temples for enforcing sheer iconoclast to stamp the authority of the Islam!!!

Lets find out the truth of Madonna Oriflamma!!

1. Oriflamma or Oriflamme?

When you translate both Oriflamma and Oriflamme to Russian language, it is "Орифламма".
Now if you see the etymology of the word "Oriflamme", you would get some idea about its meaning and context of using this word.
Word Oriflamme/ Oriflamma means "Golden Flame".
It is also known as sacred banner of St. Denis, and oriflamble, from Old French orie flambe, from Latin aurea flamma "golden flame." It was ancient battle standard of the kings of France, it was supposed to have been of red or orange-red silk, with two or three points, and was given to the kings by the abbot of St. Denis on setting out to war. Cotgrave says it was "borne at first openely in warres made against Infidells, but afterwards used in all other warres and at length utterly lost in a Battell against the Flemings." It is last mentioned in an abbey inventory of 1534.

Oriflamme was 'raised', usually in the presence of the French king, at St-Denis. There are references to individual knights being designated to be protectors and bearers of the banner, but the more carefully supported works fall short of describing the banner actually being carried into the battle.

In next part we will see how Oriflamme/ Oriflamma was used as a divine Falg in the war by French Kings to ensure their victory!!!

2. The Battle Flag

The oriflamme was a sacred banner used by the kings of France in the Middle Ages in times of great danger. It was distinct from the heraldic banner of the French kings (semis of fleurs-de-lis on azure). Its history is fairly continuous from 1124 onward, when it was first mentioned. It was first described in 1225.

It consists of two parts: a gilded lance, to which is attached a silk banner, red with green fringes. The floating end of the banner splits into two or more trailing strips. The name, aurea flamma, conflates the banner (flamma) and the colour of the lance. The banner is sometimes represented as attached vertically to the lance, and sometimes (especially in the 19th century) as attached to a horizontal bar, itself suspended from the lance (modern rendition, St. Denis Basilica).

The oriflamme was deposited in the abbey of Saint-Denis, north of Paris, where kings of France were buried, next to the relics of Denis who evangelized the area. When going to war, the French king would come to Saint-Denis to "raise the banner". The oriflamme is depicted on miniatures representing the battles of Crecy and Poitiers (image).

The last time it was raised was in the late 15th century, during the conflict between Louis XI and the League of Public Weal in 1465, as represented on a miniature. The banner was destroyed during the French Revolution.

In the pic - Oriflamme was allegedly presented by Pope Leo III to Charlemagne, The first emperor of France and Western Europe. Charlemagne took Oriflamme to the Holy Lands to fulfill a prophecy that a knight carrying a holy relic would free the holy land!!
