A few thoughts. (1) Infrastructure has been massively underestimated and underinvested in. People like @Melt_Dem have been touting the importance of infrastructure for years.
(2) Guess what? Money doesn't solve the problem. Really, it doesn't. Turns out there really aren't many people in the world that can build what we're building. More education is definitely needed but it takes time.
(3) In terms of Lightning development, there are about 4 devs working full time on LND, 2 on c-lightning, and 2-3 on eclair. So less than 10 total on Lightning implementations. We are desperately looking to hire protocol devs!
(4) We are indeed in an insane bubble right now. The idea that tokens with whitepapers full of technobabble and no product or working code should be worth (now) $12B is *insane*. trustnodes.com/2018/01/05/tro…
(5) Market cap is a bad metric though, of course, because it doesn't reliably reflect the true value of the token if there was a run on the market or large holders sold. The order books tend to be really shallow and easily manipulated.
(6) Turns out the smartest technical minds aren't in it for the money. There's a reason why the vast majority of ICOs are all marketing and no substance. Protocol devs will keep contributing regardless of price. Cypherpunks write code. /fin
