1/This video from my brother made me tear up, proud how far he’s come. ☺️

2/A few years ago he picked up a camera to accompany him on hikes in Oregon with his dog, Kaya.
3/He spent the last two years teaching himself to film, studying the work of talented videographers on YouTube and Vimeo.

His nights and weekends were dedicated to filming and editing. It was an escape from his day job.
4/Earlier this year he landed a role as a videographer at a small startup – HIS DREAM JOB.
5/I’m so happy for him and wanted to share his story as an illustration of the power of passion and persistence.

E.g. Rarely do people go to the theater or a concert alone.
Media is social lubrication, a vehicle to bring friends and likeminded people together. It gives people something to talk about and a sense of belonging.

Oh my goodness!!! I found a TINY Ichthyosaur vertebra at Lyme Regis!!!! So small and beautiful!!! It is around 195 million years old!!!
I’ve been to Lyme Regis dozens of times. I love it. It is such a gorgeous little town. They have ammonite lamp posts and stunning views out to sea.

The feedback I've been getting on this article is rather telling.

People aren't so much engaging with the idea that other books could better introduce students to thinking about race, as they are trying to call Black people oversensitive.

A few years ago, I visited the Art Gallery of Ontario for Now’s the Time, a retrospective exhibit of Jean-Michel Basquiat.

While touring Basquiat’s works, most of them seemingly assembled and painted by the hand of chaos itself, his 1983 self-portrait caught my attention.
Here was a simple, crude, and unfinished silhouette of a man, shadows in the shape of dreadlocks sticking out at odd angles, rendered fully in black save for two vacant eye-holes.

It had me transfixed.
