1/ Since PM Narendra Modi tweeted about the electrification of all the villages, a lot of idiotic tweets like this 👇🏼popped up.

2/ Rural electrification was going on in India since long. In 2005 April, the then UPA govt launched Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidytikaran Yojana (RGGVY) with the aim to electrify every village in India and give free electricity connection to every BPL family 
3/ Modi, in his usual style, changed the name of the scheme to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY). Last year he re-launched a scheme which was already repackaged and re-launched by him - Saubhagya Yojana. I wrote then👇🏼

4/ Ministry of Power’s latest available annual report shows the total otlay of RGGY was ₹75893 crore. Under RGGV, ₹ 43033 crore spent. This govt added another ₹10173 due to cost escalations over the time.
5/ Rural Electrification Company (REC) annual reports give a more clear picture. From April 2005 To March 2014, 108280 villages were electrified and 21,683, 554 free electricity connection were given to BPL families
6/ Since Modi Govt took over, they electrified 18,452 unelectrified villages in 4 years. With just this numbers under his belt, Modi is claiming the ownership of the entire scheme and its success.
7/ After thi govt came in to power, 53,16,646 free electricity connections were given to BPL families. That is an average of 13,29,161.5 per year. UPA2 had an average of 32,60,999 per year in 5 years.
8/ To prove his manlyhood, Modi is forcefully claiming the paternity of some one else’s child and illeducated dung head sanghis - like this Majumdar guy - celebrate it. Phew..
