Day of spite and petty malice!
When a document most callous
Came forth from the papal palace

Oh, what nuisance it inventeth,
And what rancor it fermenteth,
As the faithful it tormenteth

🧵1/9
Loud complaints will be resounding
Every chancery surrounding
Bishops with a headache pounding

To what end this persecution?
Whom enriched by diminution?
For what is this the solution?

🧵2/9
See, the faithful are divided
By the place where they resided
Some shepherds took, while some provided

Lo, the ones whose loss is graver
Traded for a tyrant’s favor
May God send them leaders braver!

New +Roche interview: “All that is taking place” with #TraditionisCustodes “is the regulation of the former liturgy of 1962 Missal by stopping the promotion of that. The Council [put] forward a new liturgy...& to resist that is...really quite serious, too.”vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2…
“There has never been a controversy about the liturgy in the way we are experiencing it today, partly because there’s never before been 2 versions of the Roman Missal—[the 1962] & then the [1970] which was produced with the full force of [Vatican II] & promulgated by [Paul VI].”
“As the Holy Father has pointed out in his #Traditioniscustodes, there is one liturgical law which assists us in our belief in transmitting the Church’s doctrine. So, the reform of the liturgy is really a very important matter today & also not something to be taken as an option.”

The Vicar General of Rome, Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, has issued a letter—dated October 7th and addressed to all priests engaged in pastoral work & all faithful—implementing #PopeFrancis's Traditionis Custodes in the diocese. See below. #Traditioniscustodes
Read an English translation of the letter below:
p.s. I included the footnote in order to explain why I did not use all of the Vatican's official translation for that particular quote.

Kudos to @RaymondArroyo for interviewing @BishopAthanas1 on @WorldOverLive. His Excellency spends a good amount of time discussing #TraditionisCustodes.
Regarding #TraditionisCustodes, @BishopAthanas1 observes that "behind this Motu Proprio there is another agenda," namely, a "decisive rejection of Tradition".
When asked how the "Ordinary Form" (Novus Ordo) and "Extraordinary Form" (TLM) should "co-exist", @BishopAthanas1 emphasized that they are "quite different" and that it would be "more honest" to identify them as "two rites" — something @Pontifex has done, invoking "bi-ritualism".

Vatican journalist @dianemontagna has begun her address at the Catholic Identity Conference, focusing on #TraditionisCustodes and the "hidden story" behind the anti-TLM Motu Proprio. Image
According to Vatican sources, @dianemontagna explains, the CDF held a plenary session in late Jan. 2020 re: the former Ecclesia Dei commission (suppressed by Pope Francis in Jan. 2019) during which Cardinals Parolin, Ouellet, Versaldi, etc. pushed for restrictions on the TLM.
Note well: The CDF plenary session (Jan. 2020) took place FOUR MONTHS BEFORE the survey of bishops re: the TLM was sent to the world's bishops (May 2020) — which means that Francis' claim that he was simply doing 'the will of the bishops' via #TraditionisCustodes is FALSE.

«Chi di voi, al figlio che gli chiede un pane, darà una pietra?» (Mt 7,9)

Cari Fratelli e Sorelle in Cristo,

dall’accoglienza fraterna tanto decantata.

La volontà affermata da papa Francesco nel Motu Proprio Traditionis Custodes del 16 luglio 2021 è di vedere sparire la celebrazione della Messa della Tradizione della Chiesa. (3/14)

Let’s talk promulgation. Last week we received the new motu proprio #TraditionisCustodes. I won’t be commenting here on the substance of the new law, which is better left to a more reflective forum, but I will make some remarks on the nature of promulgation. #CanonLawMatters
First, let’s remind ourselves of a general definition of law. There are plenty, but here’s Suarez: “law is a common, just, and stable precept, which has been sufficiently promulgated.” So all legislation requires promulgation; it is part of the legislative process.
In fact, we can say that promulgation is a “fundamental act” (Hervada) in the process of legislation, and so cannot be dispensed. This proceeds from natural justice: the subjects of the law have to know they are subjects of the law. Anything less is unjust.

1/14 The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines schism as “the refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him.” There is always a choice: submit or rebel.
2/14 Prophets & saints & faithful people always submit (sometimes patiently, suffering in silence, and sometimes vindicated by history). Schismatics always refuse to submit.
3/14 To claim that #TraditionisCustodes will push some traditionalists into leaving the Church means only they were already in schism, but claiming not to be, in spite of the incessant anti-papal, anti-Vatican II rhetoric pouring from their blogs and websites.

I am not a Latin Mass attender and am well aware of the unhealthy views of a small minority of Latin Mass attendees, but one wonders why a similar papal response has not been unleashed upon the outright heresies of numerous German bishops. 1/ #TraditionisCustodes
Or the grave liturgical abuses that are commonplace with numerous Novus Ordo masses throughout the entire world and which have been going on for decades. 2/
Or the appalling formation of young Catholics in the West since Vatican II. 3/
