Can you be serious please? The last time the #Afghan govt controlled 80% of #Afghanistan was when the #US invaded. 16 years later, the #Taliban is stronger and more violent militant groups have emerged.
Just tell us how?
@Commander_RS @ResoluteSupport 1) Do you honestly believe that by bombing drug production labs & fields, you will actually halt #Taliban financing?
Without actually stopping support for #TerrorFinance from #MiddleEast, this is a drop in a very big bucket.
@Commander_RS @ResoluteSupport 2) Do you honestly believe you have found the “Magic Bullet” theory to turn the #ANSF into a military force, instead of a collection of unmotivated, underfed, untalented men?
3) How do you plan to turn the #NDS, a #terrorism facilitator, into a proper intelligence agency, capable of detecting & stopping any #terrorist threat?
4) When #Afghanistan & #Kabul refuse to accept their problem internal to their borders, how do you stem the flow of new fighters to these groups?
5) And to be very honest, we doubt you even have 80% control of the #Kabul population to be predicting that for the whole country.
6) Again, the #US making much bigger commitments than can be achieved in #Afghanistan.
The goal should be eliminating #ISKP from their soil, then engage with the #Taliban.
7) But #US foreign policy has always shown that they first attempt to starve the enemy before engaging in negotiations. Sadly, the #Taliban are already starved & wont break with these tactics as 16 years has shown.
8) How will you the warlords & drug dealers OUT of #Afghanistan’s government, who directly support these groups for protection & enforcement?
They are members of Parliament, for God’s sake.
9) Assumptions of control from a position of weakness is either heavy usage of #Afghanistan’s cash crop or implementing a #ScorchedEarth strategy.
Which is it?
