Permit me to tell you just how low the state of journalism has sunk at Adelson's newspaper in NV. There were three debates this week in nationally watched races where the primary (June 12) outcome will be hugely important that the RJ did not cover. Unprecedented and Orwellian.

The question is why would Adelson's editors deprive readers of debates that could help them make decisions. Could it be as simple as that @TheNVIndy sponsored them? That would be unfathomable, petty and pathetic, right? A news blackout? What did the reporters say? 2/
The "newspaper" has lost credibility and readers since Adelson bought it, hemorrhaged quality staffers and hired two "columnists" -- one essentially a GOP operative and the other a conspiracy theorist. But last week was a new low and an even more ominous harbinger. 3/
Whether it is orders from on high or editors sacrificing whatever integrity they once had, they are purposely not covering important news events as well as sending a signal they intend to be used to help certain candidates and hurt others. This is outrageous and dangerous. 4/
The RJ's powers that be may think we @TheNVIndy care that they ignore us or steal our stuff. We don't. We're gaining readers; they are losing them. This is about anyone who cares about journalism and ethics and the transmutation of a newspaper into a political operation. 5/
People are catching on, day by day. The RJ should be called to account by @CJR or @Poynter and others. The state's largest newspaper is no longer a newspaper. @LasVegasSun is now Lilliputian. I'm glad @NevadaCurrent will join the fray soon. We are not alone. Onward! 6/6
