So when ESPN brought DraftExpress on board, I knew it was going to make DX's content harder to find. What I didn't know was how much of it just wouldn't be replaced, even with ESPN Insider. No player pages this year, like two scouting report videos, it goes on and on. It's awful.
In the interest of positivity, though, I thought I'd start a thread listing all of the cool and new draft sites I have been finding good info on. Here goes, and feel free to suggest some I may have missed.
We'll start with @TheStepien: thestepien.com. Good profiles, concise strengths/weaknesses lists, helpful stat download, a thoughtful way of thinking of roles, good stuff. We'll have @colezwicker from The Stepien on the SCH Show tonight.
The @ringer's draft coverage, led by @KevinOConnorNBA, is great. Love the mock draft, the format of their profiles, and especially the "shades of" player comps. It's a good way to get a overview of a prospect at every level of the board. nbadraft.theringer.com
I like what @tankathon has done with their player pages, listing statistical strengths and weaknesses for every player. My favorite thing, though, is that they've compiled useful highlight videos/scouting videos at the bottom of each profile. tankathon.com/players/jaren-…, for example.
has existed for forever and I honestly probably don't give them enough credit. Their strengths/weaknesses lists have been around so long you can do sentiment studies on their word choices. nbadraft.net
At @The94FeetReport, @HoopsMetrOX and team did a great job putting together this 279 page draft guide on each prospect, with Synergy stats, projections, and more. I really like what they did in envisioning each player's role and fit. 94feetreport.com/the-2018-nba-d…
A lot of the best NBA draft statistical analysts have been hired by NBA teams (including the Jazz, BTW.) But @Model284's stuff is good, and I like looking at their statistical comparison pages too: model284.com/2018-peak-nba-…
Dean Demakis' site @deanondraft is maybe the best at just ignoring the consensus on prospects (hard to do!) and coming up with his own opinions. I don't always agree with Dean, but he always makes me think. deanondraft.com
