Starr County Police report on the death of Marco Antonio Muñoz, who took his own life after being separated from his wife and having his three year old son ripped from his arms when seeking asylum in Granjeno, Texas.
"Border Patrol agents told the family they would be separated. That’s when Muñoz 'lost it,' according to one agent."

“The guy lost his s---,” the agent said. “They had to use physical force to take the child out of his hands.”

So they put him in shackles, stuffed him into a van, and drove him 40 miles to Rio Grande City, where they tossed this heartbroken man in a padded cell.
Nearly 1,800 immigrant families were separated at the U.S.-Mexico border from October 2016 through February of this year.

And things are getting worse, fast.

From May 6 to May 19 alone, that number was 658.
