1. The Most Fundamental Flaw Of Modern Liberalism:
The unquestioned (and erroneous) belief that govt can raise tax revenues through legislation. It cannot. I don't mean politically. I mean physically and mathematically, it cannot.
2. It is this false belief which makes people like Chris Hayes (@chrislhayes) say things like:

I think a good answer for "How will you pay for your agenda?" is "We're a very rich country. We'll figure it out."

What they mean is govt can always raise more money through taxes.
3. Wrong! Govt cannot always raise more money through taxes. Not even if every member of Congress, the President, every judge in the country, every govt employee, and (what the heck!) every citizen in the U.S. is a liberal Democrat. Not even then.

It's sadly likely there will be another huge spike in suicides, as recent coverage has been horrendously insensitive—either through opportunism or lack of consulting with experts. The romanticization, the constant publicizing of method, the marathon, larger-than-life coverage.
Celebrity suicide coverage is so horrible, so insensitive that I can't find words. It's like there aren't real people involved; that there aren't so many more suffering now; that a child's life has not just been devastated. No, let's just do a marathon. Good for ratings, I guess.
Talking about tough issues is good; it could've been an opportunity. But you need to bring in some experts here and treat people as real people, not as content to fill time and pages with. The romanticization is big part of what fuels suicidal ideation, and we've had nothing but.

After 70 years of imperial/neoliberal indoctrination the web of lies is so obviously absurde (9/11, Skripal, WH = ISIS, etc.), that it is dissoluting. The empathetic humanity connects, closes ranks and sends their eternal psychopathic rulers and their lackeys into nowhere land.
The "evil empire" is a lifelong three year old child. I certainly loved my children at that age too, however only because they created not only a surreal mess, but also made steady progress.

A great documentary about psychopathy and society:
The elite invented "democracy" to protect them from the empathetic people. The media are their means for misleading the people sedated by "democracy". This is definitely a bad thing since the people have become educated and the elite almost totally insane.

Let me answer that question for you.

Here are just a few of the reasons (1/15)
(2/15) As you've seen from poll after poll, voters don't like you. Actually, they think you're corrupt, reckless, dangerous and hurting the middle class.

Republicans in Congress are a rubber stamp for you.

Democrats will be a check.
(3/15) GOP in Congress are part of a #CoverUpCongress that thinks it is more important to protect you and their power than it is to protect Democracy.

They don't care if you worked with Putin to subvert Democracy and get elected and don't care if that's a threat to our security.
