Members of Islamic State’s Jaysh Khalid bin al-Waleed have gone out of the Yarmouk Basin to participate in fighting against govt alongside the rebels (heard from both sides of the frontlines). If so, looks like this was a condition Jaysh Khalid imposed for a ceasefire.
As one source puts it: ‘With the presence of frogs [traitors] and the Free Army betraying each other, there is no means except to stand shoulder to shoulder and go forward with each other.’
Approximately 50 Jaysh Khalid fighters have gone out of the Yarmouk Basin to fight alongside rebels: some are new civilian recruits from the recent campaign to recruit fighters against Syrian government. Others are veterans.
Notable update: source in Heet’s Sadd al-Bagha ops room: ‘The idea has been suggested [for Jaysh Khalid fighters to come out and join the fight against regime] ‘ but obstacles on both sides.
Same source confirms there is a ceasefire between Jaysh Khalid and rebels. The idea of Jaysh Khalid joining the fight is that in the end they too are sons of Hawran and there must be a joint effort against a common enemy.
As reasoning goes the logic is fairly understandable: a large number of Jaysh Khalid guys are not in fact from the Yarmouk Basin but wider Hawran. Even people of Yarmouk Basin seen as cousins. But having Jaysh Khalid participate in fighting further bolsters Russia/govt casus belli
Further update/clarification to this: the Hay'at al-Islah conveyed a message to Jaysh Khalid from the Hawran factions that anyone who wants to participate in the fight against the Syrian govt needs to repent first and undergo a Shari'i course and judgement.
I do of course hope that those who eagerly retweet the first tweet in this series also retweet the latest ones.
