We've known for a while that even the most basic 'drone' can be used to cause mass panic, if not mass injury. Think of the rudimentary 'radioactive drone', which sat on the Japanese PM's office for 2 weeks, or those sent flying towards the White House. 2/8 counterterrorbusiness.com/features/count…
So, in Venezuela, it is more than possible that a small, little-known group called 'Soldiers in T-shirts' could conduct such an attack. Anyone with an off the shelf quadrocopter can cause mass panic with what would be called a 'terrorist drone'. 3/8 washingtonpost.com/world/the_amer…

First, 'Soldiers in T-shirts', the group supposedly behind the attack, claim their drones were 'shot down' by soldiers before getting to Maduro. As those facing ISIS drones have stated, this is REALLY not easy to do. 5/8 bbc.com/future/story/2…
On top of this, there are conflicting stories. The Fire Service has claimed that the 'Drone Assassination' attempt was actually an exploding gas leak, whilst the President has blamed everyone from the U.S. GovT, to the Colombians for the attack. 6/8 thetimes.co.uk/article/venezu…

So, although more than possible with the technology readily available to even the smallest group that has nefarious intentions, the judgement is still out on whether this 'drone attack' actually took place. 8/8
