On this week's Protect the Hustle we dive deep into how to actually scale with @HubSpot's @bhalligan. So much has been written on how to go from 0 to 1, but there's not a lot out there on what to do after the startup phase.

Here's the full episode: profitwell.com/blog/brian-hal…
As Brian says, you can't suck at anything, but you can make mistakes, as long as you don't make the same mistake twice. Seems super obvious, but it's insanely difficult to focus on the fundamentals and also move quickly.
Tactically, making sure you don't make the same mistake twice involves monitoring mostly every metric under the sun, especially the metrics tied to previous mistakes. HubSpot has a metric deck that's looked at constantly.
When a mistake happens as you're scaling it can throw your whole company into a tailspin. Brian gives a great example with the release of a major update that was thought to be ready for non-early adopters and how it impacted the entire company and took months to recover from.
Another crucial piece of scaling is motivation - how do you scale when you've been successful? This comes down to mindset - Dharmesh and Brian don't feel like they're done yet. They're pushing for more and ironically feel like they're in the first few innings of HubSpot.
Oh - this episode also has a phenomenal story about Brian buying Jerry Garcia's guitar ("Wolf") in an auction for charity. :)

Here's the direct listen. Enjoy.
