Land reform is a serious issue. We all remember Zimbabwe. But trying to portray white South African farmers as refugees is ridiculous when you won't even let anyone in from Syria ( about four dozen Syrians arrived this fiscal year.)
Some of them may be. It is complicated. But when the administration is curtailing asylum & refugee admissions on all fronts, & when this issue, though legitimate, is overblown on @TuckerCarlson it is very disturbing to then see the president repeat words from that skewed playbook

This kind of rhetoric is dangerous & hurts race relations in South Africa, never mind America. Land reform is an issue, and a concern. White farm murders in South Africa are a problem, though they pale to murders overall. Compared to the worldwide refugee crisis, it is small.
This absolutely is not intended to undermine the very difficult time white South African farmers have. It is a problem. Fixing 40 years of a racist state is hard. But this kind of rhetoric risks security there at a time when South Africa finally has a new president after Zuma.

It is similar when you talk about white South African farmers as refugees when you are cutting refugees. Some of them may have legitimate claims because this is a serious and complicated issue. But what you are really doing is sending a message, whether you know it or not.
