This has to be an incomparably tough time for the journalists of the Post, but the event at the center of these tough times makes this with saying:

Nah, y’all are at war now.
Same for the NYT: in a real sense — nonpartisan, but still real — the forces the administration represents see you as the opposition, whether you accept that perception or not.

Still searching for the best arguments *against* optimizing for sustainable economic growth (factoring in environment + human rights) + more markets broadly, because that’s what I try to facilitate at work, + want to do so w/ eyes wide open.

There's a niche strand of thought that says markets are inherently alienating/violence-enducing in some way, although I haven't heard a compelling argument in that direction. If anyone has one, pls drop it here.

Now that I'm in a place in my life where I would describe myself as 'anxious and bummed out' more often than 'panicked and detached,' I thought it might be interesting to reflect on my complete breakdown in May of 2015:
In the 9 months or so leading up to my crisis, I had stopped taking my anxiety medication. The prescription had run out and I simply stopped taking it. As a side effect, my appetite decreased and it became easier to manage my weight, which seemed positive overall.
But in the lead up to the New Year, I was becoming deeply depressed. My appetite vanished entirely and I began to skip meals. I would lose 40 lbs by May. I started to cry a lot. I cried a _lot_. I could make an evening of it and I didn't want to feel better, I just wanted to cry.

Today, on our 69th Republic day, I am very happy about Mohan Bhagawat coming to VyasaVidyaPeethom for flag hoisting, because this school where I spent 2 years and never celebrated Independece/Republic day or Gandhi jayanti, is celebrating a Republic day. Great improvement indeed.
2. Another reason to cheer is that it is Mohan Bhagawat who is hoisting the flag. The chief of a group, who refused to accept the secular constitution and the tricolor, is hoisting the tricolor on the day on which our constitution was implemented.
