Um, this is not "civil disobedience". Civil disobedience means refusing to obey unjust laws, like Thoreau refusing to pay taxes, or Rosa Parks refusing to sit in the back fo the bus, or Gandhi not disobeying the many British laws, like salt making.
The correct name for the above incident is simply "protest". But a better description is "make an ass out of yourself in order to get Facebook/Twitter/YouTube hits". It's no more intellectually rigorous than ....
I grew up believing in certain principles like civil disobedience, free speech, rule of law, etc. Social media seems to have changed all that. In the old days you were lucky to get a blurb in a news story "protestors disrupted hearings today". Now you get Facebook hits.

1/ So I thought I'd write up a few notes on Trump's oval office address (transcript here). The reason I'm writing this is up is because Pelosi/Schumer derided Trump on the "facts" -- and then provided none of their own.

2/ First of all, I think the context is that Trump wants to declare a "state of emergency" to bypass congress. He's either trying to convince us, or test the waters to see if we'll accept it. We should not let him, this would be a horrible abuse of power, what despots do.
3/ There is legitimately a "humanitarian crisis" going on. As this Wikipedia article describes, there has been waves of refugees, including a lot of children, coming from the three countries immediately south of Mexico since 2014.

1/ Well, to answer this, sign up for the phone company's family plans designed to allow you to track your children. It's hit or miss, sometimes very accurate, sometimes not.
2/ Modern phones and towers have multiple abilities to track your location. For one thing, because of speed-of-light delay, the tower must know your distance from the tower to within 100 meters.
3/ Next, towers know which directional antenna your signal arrives on. This gives them a 120° arc within which to locate you, the closer you are to the tower, the more accurate that is, of course.

1/ In regards to my tweets today about "institutions" that make us great, let's talk about journalism and "both-sides-ism". Nobody likes it, but those who disagree with us are still reasonable people, the are multiple sides to every debate. This is why a free press is valuable.
2/ Let's take "anti-vaxxers" for a moment, which I assume you'll agree are "batshit crazy" and not "reasonable" in any fashion. Yet, we still have a "both sides" issue. Even if "vaccines cause autism" argument is garbage, we still debate whether governments can force vaccines.
3/ It's the same argument whether governments can force you to donate a kidney. Or force you to donate bone marrow (which is relatively harmless to the donor). Or force a woman to cary a baby to term.

"When school started in August this year I decided that this was enough. I sat myself down on the ground outside the Swedish parliament. I school striked for the climate." 1/
Such a simple expression: when we know the world around to be wrong, unjust, immoral, dangerous, we need to stop walking along with it. "I sat myself down" is the most basic response of a sentient being who cannot participate anymore. 2/
Of course, since @GretaThunberg is damn smart, she sat herself down in front of the Swedish Parliament! But the gesture goes bad to Rosa Parks, to the sit-ins against segregation and the Vietnam War. We, sentient beings, know of evil and refuse to participate. 3/

spotlight-few have the strength of character to commit to a movement as large as #BLEXIT. To say he was getting out of politics was a strange comment. Somehow when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus I doubt people looked at the act as political. Her actions
were a stand for humanity-or as people today would say-it was the right thing to do. What she did was made into a political statement by politicians, but Rosa Parks was simply doing what God intended she do-act as an equal human being-not a politician! God Bless You, Candace!

Let me tell you the story of the State Lege trips.

My mother comes from a small town; her family has been in the area for almost 200 years now. Her g’g’grandparents on both sides founded 3 of the small towns in the area. She’s related to everyone.

(Yes, it’s possible to be both local aristocracy & white trash.) She’s also one of those people who will claim someone else’s tragedy if it attracts attention to her, especially if she’s far enough away that she doesn’t have to actually DO anything about the tragedy.
Which happened. When I was a small child. A distant family member got HIV from a blood transfusion, got kicked out of school, and Smother became an HIV/AIDS activist, 2000 miles away from the actual sick kid. Her activism consisted mostly of throwing parties (aka fundraisers.)

I was struck by the question one reporter asked at that devastating PA press conf. yesterday. "You mention the one priest who testified ... are there any other heroes in this story?" The AG motioned at the victims onstage: "These are the heroes."
This is not to point fingers but the desire for "heroes" is a huge blindspot - a very immature standpoint - especially when you are LOOKING at heroes - i.e. those who survived and were brave enough to speak out - and the AG who stands by them strongly.
This is a human thing - so I don't mean to call this guy out - and this situation brings up a lot of personal responses, hoping there's at least one good brave priest who spoke up - and there WAS. We already heard about him. But what about the survivors? They're RIGHT THERE.

1. gun control has its roots in racism? Today's gun control laws are just a modern version of the exact policies that used to keep guns out of the hands of freed slaves, after the Civil War.
2. Gun control laws restrict guns from certain classes, such as; the poor, the disenfranchised, and most notoriously, black people.
3. In 1620, the Virginia legislature passed a law to not let black people have guns.
