Alterna has multiple platforms to publish whatever open letter they want, journalists are not under any obligation to help them spread that open letter, and to be frank, running these open letters does not add to your journalism, it detracts from it.
Your main job as a journalist is to report on the facts of a situation and help readers understand what is going on. Publishing passive aggressive, manipulative open letters from entities like Alterna adds to the confusion and helps legitimize their antics, don't indulge them.
CBR already included quotes from Simeti in their reporting, his side was already represented. Letting Simeti use the CBR platform to further turn a hate movement against a former Alterna freelancer is irresponsible.
