Sad to see the Hindi bashing handles get so blinded by hate. I just read one go so far as to claim that Hindi writers (incl Jaishankar Prasad) are not as close to Sanskrit lexicon as say Kannada!!

We post representative writings of H writers - readers can see for themselves

1/n
Pages from the four most celebrated works of Jaishankar Prasad:
1) Novel कंकाल
2) Drama ध्रुवस्वामिनी
3) Short Story पुरस्कार
4) Poem कामायनी

If you didn’t get every single word of these writings, you probably didn’t learn Sanskrit, for each word here is from Sanskrit
2/n
Next I post Sita Ram Goel ji’s writing in Hindi.

You can not comprehend it if you did not know Sanskrit.

3/n
Acharya Hazari Prasad Dvivedi

1. Poem रे कवि! एक बार सम्हल
2. Novel अनामदास का पोथा
3. Essay घनपति से घनश्यागम तक

One of the 5 most influential Hindi scholars and writers of the last century. Wrote Bengali and Sanskrit as well.

Do you see Sanskrit enough?

4/n

6/n
Ramdhari Singh Dinakar

Second most popular poet in modern Hindi ever.

Try to find a single noun or verb that’s not directly a Sanskrit pada.

Parts of:
1. Poem कुरुक्षेत्र
2. Poem आग की भीख (after debacle in China war)
3. Poem परिचय
You would be surprised - originally Urdu writer, Premchand, generally used a very Sanskrit-nishtha Hindi. Tiny number of loans he uses are those which one can find as freely in Bengali, Marathi

Starting parts of his most celebrated Novels:

1. निर्मला
2. गोदान
3. गबन
4. रंगभूमि
Suryakant Tripathi Nirala

1. राम की शक्तिपूजा
2,3. सरोज स्मृति (this poem he wrote to his teenage daughter when she died, can still move you to tears if you know Sanskrit alone and no other language)
4. चुम्बन

If you know Sanskrit, you already know Hindi
Mahadevi Varma

Try to find any noun/verb/adjective that’s not a Sanskrit pada directly or easy derivative (सपना/स्वप्न)

1. अलि अब सपने की बात
2. जब यह दीप थके आना
3. प्रियपथ के यह शूल मुझे अति प्यारे ही हैं
Enough for now. 🙏🏽 to the sAhitya tapasvins of all the Hindu languages.
