(3/6) Secretary Carter understood service. He understood sacrifice. He understood how to build effective teams which was critical to the success of this nation. He was a man of incredible character, talent, and skill.
1/3 Today, we gather here to honor the fallen of 9/11, to remember and reflect, and to reaffirm our resolve to support and defend the Constitution, the idea and reality that is America for which those brave souls gave their last full measure of devotion.
2/3 So let us resolve, let us resolve here yet again today to never forget those who were murdered by terrorists. Never forget those who rushed to save lives and gave theirs.
3/3 Never forget the sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, who gave their tomorrows for our todays. Honor them. Honor them today and forever and honor the cause they served. #September11#NeverForget#PatriotDay

As we remember their sacrifices on the beaches of Northern France, we are reminded of a simple adage: ‘Weapons of war come and go, but the great constant is the people.’ (2/4) #DDay75thAnniversary
They answered the world’s call for help without hesitation or indecision in the midst of great peril to themselves and their fellow service members. Without their immeasurable sacrifices, this experiment we call democracy would no longer exist. (3/4) #HonorThem
