I deleted social media apps a few weeks ago because the discourse around Kavanaugh was so painful to me as a survivor. I came back on just to say if this is painful for you, it’s ok to turn off the news, it’s okay to log off. Prioritize your own sense of safety and mental health.
To other survivors out there: we all share an awful and profound connection we never asked for, but which strengthens us no less. I love each one of you.
The connection we share reminds me of the quote from Aeschylus: “And even in our sleep pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God.” We’re in this together and stronger for that.
