1100 years before Sher Shah Suri, Kumaragupta issued silver coins and called them Rupaka. Copper coins were called Padamsas. 64 Padamsas equaled one Rupaka and 16 Rupakas equaled one Dinara. Stop giving false credit to invaders for every indigenous Indian invention
Here is a Silver Rupaka coin issued by Kumaragupta (courtesy. Pankaj Tandon Collection). Kumaragupta who although a Vaishnava was a devotee of Kumara (Skanda) and depicted Peacock on his coins.

Gupta Silver coins were first issued by Chandragupta Vikramaditya after Saka conquest
Which makes me wonder why everything is credited to Sher Shah. Like the Grand Trunk Road
