1100 years before Sher Shah Suri, Kumaragupta issued silver coins and called them Rupaka. Copper coins were called Padamsas. 64 Padamsas equaled one Rupaka and 16 Rupakas equaled one Dinara. Stop giving false credit to invaders for every indigenous Indian invention
Here is a Silver Rupaka coin issued by Kumaragupta (courtesy. Pankaj Tandon Collection). Kumaragupta who although a Vaishnava was a devotee of Kumara (Skanda) and depicted Peacock on his coins.

Gupta Silver coins were first issued by Chandragupta Vikramaditya after Saka conquest
Which makes me wonder why everything is credited to Sher Shah. Like the Grand Trunk Road

These women asked a boon from Goddess Bhakdrakali than Lord Krishna give them attention. Krishna did not do anything without consent.

He was not a sexual predator like your boss at @thewire_in . He was nothing like those shameless employees who serve rapists.
I have been told that Wire Owners have only been accused of molestation and the charges have not been proven. So, the wire employees are serving potential molesters. Not that it really makes any difference , but I am putting it out as a clarification

One puzzling aspect of India is the sharply contrasting attitude of Indians towards its Muslim rulers vs British Raj

Every Indian schoolkid has heard of Sher Shah Suri who ruled from 1538 to 1545. But how many kids are familiar with Lord Ripon - Viceroy from 1880 to 84?
Most kids know the Mughal line of succession (atleast for the Great Mughals) -
Babar->Humayun->Akbar->Jehangir->Shah Jehan->Aurangazeb

But do we know the list of Viceroys from Canning to Mountbatten?

Why is that considered less important or relevant?
It's not as though the Viceroys had no distinguishing mark.

The legacy of say a Lord Lytton in the 1870s is very different from that of Lord Ripon in the 1880s. Different personalities. Vastly different records

Yet they are not studied in school books

Most intelligent people would have this gut-feel that a country’s economic health mustn’t be judged by the state of its currency unit, but they may struggle to articulate why people who feel otherwise are wrong

What do you make of a man who refused to bow before the mighty Mughal emperor Akbar, when all other Rajput rulers did? When his own brothers sided with Akbar, leaving him virtually alone? That was Maharana Pratap, a true hero.
It is not without reason, that Maharana Pratap or Rana Pratap is regarded as one of the the greatest heroes of India. Here was some one proudly independent, fearless in spirit, and yes a great warrior too.
