Congress has the power to override SCOTUS decisions thru statutory amendment or enactment
E.g, in the 1976 case of GE v. Gilbert SCOTUS held that firing or disciplining pregnant employees was Not an unlawful form of sex discrimination under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act
2/15
In response, Congress enacted the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978, which prohibited termination or discipline of pregnant employees on the basis of pregnancy (among other provisions).
Another example—
In the 1980 case of City of Mobile v. Bolden, the SCOTUS held that discriminatory intent must be shown regarding changes to voting practices that disenfranchise minorities in order to demonstrate a violation of the U.S. Constitution and Voting Rights Act of 1965.
In response, Congress enacted the 1982 Voting Rights Act amendments & later enacted the Civil Rights Act of 1991, which overturned/repudiated 8 SCOTUS cases handed down in the late 1980s that severely narrowed the interpretation of Title VII of the 1964 CRA in favor of employers.
Congress has the power to impeach an unqualified SCOTUS & did so in 1804—Samuel Chase.
In 1969, Justice Abe Fortas resigned B4 he was going to be impeached.
Further—The U.S. Constitution doesn’t define the SIZE of the SCOTUS thus, it's within the power of Congress to change it.
I'm watering down details here, but you get the point, yes?
2 weeks ago, the senate pushed thru an unqualified man to SCOTUS, despite his lies under oath & credible accusations of sexual assault against him. They refused to have a legit investigation & release 96% of his records
Midterms are in 2 weeks…
I want you to recall that feeling of going to bed in disbelief on Nov 8, 2016 & then waking up Nov 9, 2016 with that sick feeling in your gut.
Now ask yourselves what would you have done differently those 2 weeks Before & then ask—what are you doing now?
The recurring themes I’ve run into while canvassing is this: So many offline tune this political stuff out because…
—It’s too upsetting
—Think it’s politics as usual
—Voter apathy–their vote doesn’t matter
Talk to your friends, your family, your neighbors & co-workers. Even if it’s uncomfortable in this divisive political climate. Canvass or Phone-bank for a candidate.
Statistically, one-on-one conversation is the single most persuasive act that can get voters to the polls. #GOTV🌊
The registration deadline hasn’t passed in my state but voters have to register in person. Since they don’t have transportation, I spent Friday & am doing this today: driving college students to the county election office to get them registered to vote for the 1st time.
If you don’t vote, it doesn’t matter how many US flags you have stuck to your car or hanging off your house — or how tall you stand or kneel for the US anthem...
This is the most important vote of our lifetime. The GOP knows it too. That’s why they’re—
🔹Disenfranchising voters
🔹Closing poll stations
🔹Throwing (mostly Dem)voters off of voting rolls
They DON’T want you to vote so they suppress it.
This is how powerful your one vote is.
WE HAVE THE POWER to take our country back but we must ALL vote in numbers too big to manipulate.
🔹You can NOT tweet to a win
🔹Do NOT sit this one out
🔹Authoritarian governments don’t allow free elections for long
🔹Midterms may be our last chance
You can follow politics on the news & social media all day, every day and twice on weekends. But if you aren't VOTING & doing Everything you can to Get Others To Vote, your political knowledge is rhetorical and your patriotism is not genuine.
As they confirm the antithesis of Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s legacy and most importantly, against her dying wish,

Discrimination & harassment in the workplace based on race & color is illegal. But Amy doesn’t think being called the n-word applies… perhaps bc POC can “deadlift” & are “shocked” by snow.
#AmyConeyBarrett’s overt racism & subverting civil rights on the law is disqualifying.
—He’s not as rich as he says
—He’s not as charitable as he claims
—He owes $650M to Wall St &Foreign Banks
—He doesn’t want you to know he doesn’t pay income taxes
—He has multiple conflicts of interests
Reminder: In 2018 the NYT uncovered that Trump and his family committed “instances of outright fraud” and had defrauded the US Govt out of $500 Million in taxes.
This alone should’ve been enough to remove a corrupt POTUS*.
The facts on rabidly pro-Trump @LorenCulp who’s running for #WAState Governor.
Culp purposely botched a child sex-abuse investigation. He said the charges by the 17 yr old victim who repeatedly begged for help were “made up” & sided with the abuser, who pleaded Guilty.
As police chief @LorenCulp refused to enforce the law: I-1639 gun reform, overwhelmingly passed by #WAState voters. He proposed Republic, WA as a sanctuary city to protect #2A & posted this to the town’s official police FB.
