Ok so: I'm trying to be much more organized, which is why I unfortunately know that I promised to write four blog posts while I was in London. They are:

1) how do I scale my fast growing team that uses $(all the tools and languages and tech)?
2) should I add traces or events and do I have to instrument / how even do I understand microservices?

3) that thing I said about not taking away from juniors the tools that made us grow up, even if those tools are overwork and obsession... any new thoughts?
4) when it comes to on call and division of labor between SRE/SWE/etc, what is the ultimate end goal? Where is it we are going, or trying to get to??

OK vote:
Tomorrow I will write whichever one folks are most interested in reading. Two maybe. The rest i will shred and mark "done", and future me will forget it was ever a lie. 🙏⏳
Btw, "Sapiens" is one of those rare books I didn't read bc I was so put off by some of the douchebags who were recommending it to me.

Fuck. It is that good. On my third pass through now, and half way through Homo Deus. Love to chat with anyone who has strong feelings @ it.
It's so interesting to see humanism cast in such explicitly theological terms. Haven't heard it put that way outside the fundamentalist compound in Idaho where I grew up.

But it rings true. 🤔
btw I am delighted that the easiest piece to write seems to be winning the straw poll 😈
