... Anybody remember "Profit?" It was a canceled TV series about a dude who had been raised in ridiculously abusive circumstances, in a cardboard box, who then spends his adult life attempting to take over the megacorp whose logo was on the box he lived in until his teens.
Jim Profit pretended to be like this Ivy League business grad with impeccable morals and character when he was the straight-up decency dead zone and didn't know how to give a shit about ANYONE.

He did a lot of 4th-wall breaking, too, talking to the audience.
He lived in this business-exec-appropriate luxury penthouse, but when he went home at night, he just got naked and climbed into a copy of his childhood cardboard box to sleep.

Also, he hated TV? Like, to the point of distraction. Because it was always on in his house as a kid.
That was a good show.
Looking back, what I especially like about it now is they didn't try to pretend Jim being an awful person who casually ruined other people's lives for personal gain was was cool. It didn't make him a hero; the show never missed a chance to remind you he was Very Fucked Up.
Pretty sure this was literally the last minute of it to ever air: him going to sleep in his filthy little box.
Also pretty sure if this were being made today, They'd depict Profit blackmailing people and exposing affairs and boning down with his own stepmom as alpha male flexin'.

It's not sociopathy, it's genius!!1!
