I think this PM speech could best be summarised as "I'm right, anyone who disagrees with me is wrong, but I better go through the motions of securing some more meaningless words"
Doesn't believe any other option has a majority - but won't put that to the test
The statement is fine, but the words don't match her actions, there's huge areas she ignores like the fact the future relationship is yet to be negotiated, and she has no credit left.
Corbyn for once rising to the occasion. Consensus of the house all important, pointing out how badly the Government has done, and business and people suffering
and the PM's response is frankly avoiding the issues he raised, Maybot returns
The PM is offering nothing new, I cannot therefore see how she can be said to command a majority in the House. But goodness knows how we go from here.
PM is even being explicit she is looking to provide reassurance, not saying anything about real changes. So this is just letting the clock run down in the desperate hope something changes in Parliament.
Nigel Dodds noting this language, quiet and threatening in a Parliamentary way. And the PM talks about reassurances again... oh dear...
Enough. The verdict is that the PM believes she is right, can't really understand why anyone should see otherwise, but since they do she'll try to find something minor so MPs will then see sense. Ultimately, though, will anything stop that happening?
