She’s not talking about treating Pakistani doctors as well as Polish doctors (FoM).

She’s talking about now treating Polish doctors as poorly as this government has been treating Pakistani & other non-EU doctors.

It’s the @BBC’s own fault they’re increasingly disliked for their facilitation of this charlatanry.

- ‘£39bn better off’ is plain false.

- Little point controlling waters if you can’t sell fish to your biggest market.

- You immediately drop out of FTAs & face outward tariffs.
Key thing here is that Tim Martin is an importer, not an exporter.

All he sees is crashing out, then dropping own tariff barriers a la Minford.

Fine for getting cheaper booze in.

But we drop out of FTAs, so all our exporters suddenly face highest tariff barriers around world.
Think of it like our country suddenly being at the bottom of a well:

Cheap stuff pours in more easily (if they meet our regs too)...

But we’re looking at the highest walls possible in order to get our stuff out.

On Oct 26 2006 Congress passed The Secure Fence Act 120 STAT. 2638 PUBLIC LAW 109–367 with 283 votes in the House & 80 in the Senate, including unanimous Democratic support. This included $20 billion in funding for multi layer fencing along about 600 miles of the US-Mexico border
This wasn't a solid 600 miles of continuous fencing along the border, this was bits and pieces, mostly erected with surplus Marston Mats used by the Military to laydown in areas that the ground isn't solid enough to handle landing gear, the military has mountains of it.
in 2007 Congress made clear it didn't really mean what it said. The new law was amended to make fence building optional. so you ended up with very little fencing and $20 billion pretty much unaccounted for, dispersed to heavens knows where. No one was held accountable for the $$
