Not a single paper has been able to show any proof that Amina Zakari is PMB’s “niece” or “relative”. All we‘ve been treated to are claims & counter-claims. Even Bloomberg is playing the ‘claims’ game, hiding behind ThisDay. Is it now that hard to prove familial relationship?
I think we should be able to depend on our newspapers and media generally to help us navigate the various webs of confusion that inevitably arise and multiply esp as elections approach. The various claims and counter-claims. If the media can’t help, who will?
If the media sees its primary role as amplifying ‘gossip’ not clarifying it - are we not in trouble? And this goes well beyond APC and PDP by the way.
One more thing:Can someone tell me what Buhari’s own is in all of this? Mrs Zakari was appointed INEC Commissioner by @GEJonathan in 2011. Now she’s been appointed to head an INTERNAL body by a constitutionally INDEPENDENT electoral agency. What is Buhari’s consign in the matter?

SUMMARY: Amina Zakari, a hardworking professional who served the Obasanjo Administration 2004–2007 as a Special Assistant to the President (and FCT Health Secretary) and the Jonathan Administration as INEC National Commissioner, is sadly being dragged on account of outright LIES.
