Why does the afterlife captivate us? "At the most fundamental level, we don't want to die," @lisaxmiller says.
Heaven isn't compulsory, @Tish_H_Warren says. "I do believe there's a punishment, I do believe there's a Hell" but as to the metaphysics of it "I'm agnostic on that."
