Natalya Vladimirovna Veselnitskaya, who is not in custody and presumed to be in Russia, was charged by Manhattan federal prosecutors with lying to court officials about evidence in a civil case brought by the feds.
The feds accused Russian company Prevezon Holdings with a $230M dollar tax fraud scheme perpetrated by a criminal organization whose members include allegedly corrupt Russian officials.
Veselnitskaya, who represented Prevezon, concealed from the court that she had participated in drafting “those supposed exculpatory investigative findings in secret cooperation with a senior Russian prosecutor,” prosecutors said.
