If this is anything as good as the one (from Fox and Kesmai) we played back in the day online on a 2400 bps modem, I'm in! But these days, it's too much to hope for.
For those of you not old enough to have played it, this is Aliens Online. It was THE game back in the day. Scary as hell. Most of us had to choose Ramen noodles vs paying the online bills when playing this.

Good times.

Back then, we learned to swear in several foreign languages. Usenet kinda helped with that. Primarily because you'd fire a shot, think you killed the other guy - only to be declared dead seconds later due to lag and such.

So much fun. They don't make them like they used to.
I haven't been to the official Wiki page in awhile. It contains more info about that ground-breaking game.

I like how, once again, with zero facts other than allegations against @DuvalMagic in a lawsuit, some in gaming are already jumping to conclusions. Lawsuit filings are usually ripe for abuse because they are a free pass to commit defamation without threat of new cause of action
While everyone is focused on underage porn allegations - which some claim is pure bs - nobody seems to be paying much attention to the alleged $12M hole in employee dues. You know, something that can be easily proven|disproven in discovery.
Here's the thing. You can't hide that kind of paperwork, and Take 2 will cough it up in a heartbeat once subpoenaed. As to the porn? Well, if it exchanged hands - which it did - someone has a copy. Then you have to authenticate the contents. Good luck with that.

@EpicGames and @Improbableio have now teamed up to send up a $25M fund for SpatialOS devs using @unity3d to transition out of that engine.

I had written (pinned to my profile) a lengthy thread explaining why this spat was bad, and that even though you can transition from Unity to UE4 (the obvious choice here), that it was super expensive to even consider. Especially for devs who have no experience with UE4.

@GIBiz Not sure what's going on here. Plus, you can still implement @Improbableio as external middleware without its built-in Unity integration (which only makes it easier) - just like UE4.
@Improbableio The issue is that this is similar to the AWS licensing agreement for Lumberyard. But in the case of Amazon, it's justified seeing as they have AWS as a competing service to Azure & GoogleCompute and you can't use FREE Lumberyard with a competing cloud service.
@Improbableio I take that back. The full legal reading of the updated Section 2.4 is worse than I previously thought.
