1. Some perspective on the BuzzFeed controversy

The central claim in BuzzFeed's story that Mueller disputes is this: Cohen "told the special counsel that after the election, the president personally instructed him to lie"

Mueller says Buzzfeed's "description" is "not accurate"
2. We know Cohen talked to Mueller's office and we know they discussed Cohen's decision to lie to Congress about when the pursuit of Trump's Moscow ended.

But what did Cohen say?

This isn't a mystery. There is a transcript. Sometime soon, the transcript should be released.
3. There is clearly some ambiguity about what Cohen told Congress. His lawyer wrote at one point that Cohen lied about the Moscow project "in accordance with Client-1’s directives" (Client-1 is Trump)

But in his allocation to the court, Cohen did not say he was directed by Trump

Late last night Grassley’s chief counsel, who’d question Ford in a staff interview & prep Grassley’s questioning in a hearing, tweeted that he’s “unfazed” & “determined” to “confirm Kavanaugh,” then confirmed he personally conducted Kavanguah’s questioning & attacked Ford’s camp.
Mike’s account has been locked. It was public this morning when these screen shots were taken. I’m leaving them up because the question of whether Grassley’s staff can conduct a fair investigation is central to the debate & Mike would conduct the questioning of Kavanaugh & Ford.
Mike's account is now public again and here is his explanation. Not sure how this clarifies anything, but judge for yourself.

This is incredible, and likely the Deep State’s original plan to try to seize control of the Justice Dept., as way to oust Trump.

2. As you will recall, this was at a time that the Justice Department was in open defiance of Trump’s policies, bordering on an outright rebellion.

Sally Yates had to be fired because she refused to enforce the Trump administration’s policies.
3. The Deep State eventually succeeded in their coup of the Justice Department through forcing Sessions to recuse.

Removing Sessions was crucial - because he was the only one that stood in the way of Deep State insiders seizing control of decisions as to investigating Trump.
