The central claim in BuzzFeed's story that Mueller disputes is this: Cohen "told the special counsel that after the election, the president personally instructed him to lie"
Mueller says Buzzfeed's "description" is "not accurate"
But what did Cohen say?
This isn't a mystery. There is a transcript. Sometime soon, the transcript should be released.
But in his allocation to the court, Cohen did not say he was directed by Trump
Many people are confidently declaring that BuzzFeed's piece is garbage. BuzzFeed maintains its true.
But how can anyone really have a view without reading this transcript?
But ultimately these are matters of PUBLIC CONCERN
At some point (hopefully soon) Mueller will release the transcript and we can all judge whether BuzzFeed's description is accurate
But there is an underlying truth that goes to the heart of our democracy.
We still don't know the truth and we deserve the truth.
