This is Leslie Evans, the Permanent Secretary to the Scottish Government.

A few days ago I tweeted that she was a Westminster civil servant. I then got a sh*t load of crap from some unionists pointing out to me that Leslie Evens was chosen & appointed by our FM Nicola Sturgeon Leslie Evans The Permanent Secretary to the Scottish Government
I was told to 'do some f*cking research' & to 'shut the f*ck up' & a load more of the usual abuse

So to those people, I say this...
"You doing some f*cking research & get the facts right"

When the post becomes vacant, the Permanent Secretary to the Scottish Government
is appointed on merit by the First Civil Service Commissioner in accordance with the Civil Service’s recruitment principles. A short list of 3 is then given to the First Minister who is invited to choose between those candidates deemed suitable for appointment
by the First Civil Service Commissioner(part of the Westminster establishment).

So our FM does NOT have a free choice of The Permanent Secretary.

It's like going to the butcher's shop because you fancy a piece of prime fillet steak for your tea & the butcher say's...
'you can't have prime fillet steak. He then offers you the choice of...
Saugages
or
Hamburgers
or
Mince
Each one of them would make a decent meal but...
IT'S NOT YOUR FIRST CHOICE!!!
So to conclude my little rant... the FM has to pick The Permanent Secretary but under NO circumstances can it be called a FREE CHOICE!!!

The ESTABLISHMENT does the choosing!!!

A woman that was caught in Adultery was brought to Jesus by the scribes and Pharisees.

They wanted to hear his opinion before meteing the law of Moses on her; which says anyone caught in Adultery should be stoned.

Here’s what absolutely concerns me:
1) AAG Whitaker has the near unilateral power over FISA applications, warrants, subpoenas and Indictments
2) more broadly one could make an argument that AAG Whitaker “appointment” is an inferior officer which could give cause for argument/1
2)...”appointment of an inferior officer and would satisfy the Appointments Clause” could (operative word) directly impact SC Mueller in the short term.
Why? Today’s hearing on Motion to Quash a Grand Jury Subpoena Andrew Miller. I don’t know if that was argued but my concern/3

A few days ago I tweeted that getting cross with those perceived to be Corbyn's supporters won't make him go away.
The same is true of those perceived to be his detractors. Attacking them won't make some basic, unpalatable facts about Corbyn go away.
His supporters need to engage with whether they prioritise Corbyn above their social vision - because he is hugely divisive. And his detractors need to work out why they can't or won't offer an alternative. Because these proxy wars deliver nothing but a destructive stasis.

In case you're not aware, Laurie Love @NoLove4USGov, despite fighting extradition to the US and state repression, is a piece of toxic trash. A few days ago he tweeted I should be "gasping for [my] last breath in a gutter somewhere" and that I'm "overdue a shivving"
Lauri spoke remotely on a panel at @hopeconf, and he has a legal defense campaign run by @couragefound. I think many of his supporters have followed his legal case but don't realize that he's an abusive asshole. So, you all should know that
He apparently is apparently very close with Julian Assange -- another abusive toxic asshole, it turns out. And Julian is very close to serial rapist Jacob Appelbaum. A pattern, maybe?

Few days ago I tweeted things I should not have. It was bad, I regret and apologize.
This sort of stuff undermines the effort of colleagues, and my own, to articulate the important role various disciplines play in taking ML forward and to create a welcoming and healthy community.
I meant to call out a person for a pattern of behaviour. I should not have done that, I did not give enough context, I worded things poorly, the rest is history.

Most painfully, I turned a personal thing into an us-vs-them message which I do not otherwise endorse.
Let me try to constructively address the situation and repair some damage with a positive message.
