This is how it started. A crushing "knowing" which tore at my comfort. A knowing that there was no going back to my humdrum law practice; that fascism was upon us. I've dedicated 8 months to this battle & there is still no light at the end of the tunnel. deandalawfirm.com
We've reunited dozens of families in the US and placed them in the care of Americans. Many are now our neighbors and citizens to be. Some are back home in the loving arms of their separated parents.
But it is not over. Th children desperately need our help. We work absolutely free of charge but need help to carry the expenses. Please help us push back against the fascist nightmare. Help us to #FreeTheChildren

THREAD Still no word from the kidnappers of my 4 client refugee children supposed to be released today by federal injunction. For these asylum seekers of the tenderest age, they continue to be held as examples of our cruelty. 1/
We have become a nation of armed border guards and an interior federal police force - intent on purging the country of as many poc as they can. I represent women as old as 81 years. Children as young as 6 months. Dozens and dozens of separated mothers and detained children. 3/
I defend pregnant refugees, and young single women, all fleeing a violent society. They, and separated mothers, have one thing in common in my legal world of defending asylum seekers from deportation - ICE will not release them on bond. 4/

PWDV Act, 2005, gives a broad definition of what qualifies as ‘domestic abuse’. It includes physical, sexual, verbal, emotional and economic abuse. Section 3 reads:
The Act provides for a ‘Protection Officer’ to help you through various processes under the law. This Officer can help you file the complaint, tell you about your rights, make an application to the Magistrate for you, etc.

1) THREAD: Why the rush? Sure, news is flying at us 100 mph, but headlines AREN’T the news. The truth is buried within. I understand people may not have the time or want to take the time to do deep research. I get it. BUT…
2) I see a lot of people sailing past information so quickly, retweeting stuff they haven’t read based on headlines. For example: the post I did yesterday about the witnesses to Clinton Foundation. Tons of people only read the headline…
3) …of the article I attached. They saw “Witnesses testifying in Clinton investigation dead” and BOOM, people are RT it as fact without even reading what I said, or reading the article itself? I was asking for proof and said the investigation has a tight lid on it.

There’s some sort of chaos outbreak at HQ, and before he knows it, Taehyung--an untrained, unpaid, unsure intern--is swept into a slick black SUV and sent off to an unknown location.
He looks around, not very optimistic at the sight of the other nervous faces in the car. When the vehicle finally stops, the doors are pulled open by a very gruff-looking man, his face streaked with blood and his arm in a rough-looking sling.

Political scientist Dr. Lawrence Britt wrote an article about fascism ("Fascism Anyone?," Free Inquiry, Spring 2003, page 20). Studying the fascist regimes of Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, Suharto and Pinochet Dr. Britt found they all had 14 elements in common./1 #Fascism
