Nearly 75% of civil servants polled ..said excessive working hours were a problem in their organisation and 82% said working extra hours had damaged their wellbeing.

The numbers recruited due to Brexit cited in this blog are eye watering. Morale is low, unsurprisingly.

They must look at what is being done in the name of Government with bemusement.

That said, it was foreseeable. Worker’s rights. Bang.

They are unable to employ staff fast enough.

Then there are the external contractors.

All to make our country worse off. More public spending, not less.

Last week the High Court gave Barclays permission to move £191 BILLION assets from the U.K. to Ireland. To protect against no deal Brexit.

IMPORTANT. #HMRC announced (still informally) Day1 #NoDealBrexit #customs simplifications for traders. Substantial simplifications planned for EU/UK trade. Also for RoRo traffic. Available for undefined time but 12 months’ notice will be given if changes planned /1
Customs declarations and pre-notifications still required but various simplifications available to avoid congestion. Traders able to lodge them ahead of goods arriving at the border or into company’s records /2
Initial declaration submitted in the company’s own commercial records. Once the goods arrive in the UK a supplementary declaration is lodged /3

Last night’s White House press statement about releasing unredacted information on the Russia investigation was a doozy. Only 139 words, but an awful lot to unpack, with lots of reasons to be concerned. I’ll try to walk through them here. bit.ly/2MFPZo9 1/x
First, what does the WH say they’re going to do? 1) Release info from a few pages of the 4th Carter Page FISA; 2&3) Release never-before-seen info from FBI interviews in the RU investigation; and 4) Release unredacted text messages from specific individuals at FBI and DOJ. 2/x
All four raise the spectre of creating a false narrative thru selective release of cherry-picked info, and risk damaging vital natsec interests and govt norms in the process. However, they raise these issues in slightly different ways, so it helps to break this mish-mash down.3/x
