Under last year's power shutdown policy, 570K customers could have been impacted by deenergization event; new plan would widen to 5.4M customers, about a third of #PGE entire system who could be impacted mercurynews.com/2019/02/06/big… $PCG
That increase in affected customers is because in past #PGE refused to shut down transmission lines 70,000 volts or higher because it would impact wider swaths of customers than area in fire danger; but now open to turn off anything up to 500,000-volt line mercurynews.com/2019/02/06/big…

The #PGE roadmap also proposes a system hardening of 150 circuit miles in the highest threat areas, compared to 17 circuit miles last year. And 7,100 miles "beyond 2019" This could include undergrounding wires mercurynews.com/2019/02/06/big…
