Coffee available at any of Lahore's cafes is at least 6 months old roast and that too at a premium rate.
Taste of olpers is dominant in this cup of mocca with very little taste of coffee
Coffee beans they use, stay in transparent containers for several weeks. They claim that they import roasted beans. That adds at least a couple of weeks of shipment.
Probably it is demand and supply gap. Nobody uses freshly roasted beans for coffee. I guess there's only one roaster in Pakistan but most of the cafes trust on importing year old beans
IMO, coffee made from relatively freshly roasted beans using a stove top moka pot or french press is much better than any of these elite cafes.
The only roaster of Pakistan, as per my knowledge, makes batches every few weeks. Their coffee is well packed in aluminum packing and easily available in all major cities of Pakistan
