I have many questions for @IlhanMN I hope she answers some of them:

1. What type of shared future do you anticipate is possible for Israelis and Palestinians to experience together?

2. What programs of reconciliation do you think can be implemented across the I-P divide?
3. Both Israelis and Palestinians have been at war for a long time. There’s a strong likelihood that PTSD effects both communities. What programs do you think the US (and others) can support to help heal that?
4. You have had the experience of being a refugee. In what ways has this taught you how to overcome? Both Palestinians and Israelis have also been refugees. How can you use your experience to make this a shared experience that brings the communities together, not further apart?
5. In my experience with AIPAC (my first trip to Israel), I along with 39 others was able to talk with Israelis of all political stripes, including many who I disagreed with. Do you believe this process of engaging genuinely with people you disagree with is valuable? Why/why not?
6. Given that both you and Israelis know what it’s like to be refugees, you both know what it’s like to experience a loss of security, vulnerability, and fear. How might this shared experience enable you not to agree with each other but to understand each other?
7. Can you think of a time where someone, based upon your race or even political view made a false assumption about you? Did this make you feel sad or less than? What practices can we put into place to ensure this isn’t done to us and that we don’t do this to others?
