This is a great piece coming from my mentor Bret Stephens. Be sure to give it a read. It’s also worth noting that when it comes to certain progressives’ analysis of Israel, they have zero context and thus zero understanding of what they’re talking about.
The average American left-wing reader has a tendency to project her understanding of American history (black vs white) onto every other subject of interest & by doing so displays a failure of imagination & a profound ignorance of both European & contemporary Israeli history.
It is, after all,Mizrahi Jews who put Likud in power. The paradox of people of color being responsible for the existence of a right-wing government in Israel is something unfathomable for commentators in America who deal in caricature (& think the world revolves around them.)
