Warren proposes a childcare policy that has a mom making $15k/year delivering her baby to a childcare system funded by gov w/ providers paid comparably to teachers. Assuming this costs close to what K-12 students cost gov ($12.5k/year) why not just help her raise her own baby?
I feel like the overwhelming message to parents is that somebody who “does this professionally” can parent better than you. WTF?
Notice that Rosa already had a friend looking after her baby; we don’t know the quality of Rosa’s friends or their personal circumstances, but the assumption that a state-licensed childcare facility is automatically better than a family friend is a REALLY BIG DEAL.
