Some people just don't want to admit the obvious:
A kWh that you can produce when it is needed is more valuable than a kWh which only can be produced when the sun is shining
This is why studies show that in California when solar penetration reaches 30%, a solar kWh will lose two-thirds of its value

Such claims are why ordinary citizens have paid a trillion dollars too much since 2007, and are on the hook for $4 trillion more till 2040

Of course, anyone can scare you and tell you "oh my god, sea level rise could flood 300 million people each year"

But any sane person knows that we'll adapt, and actually reduce flooding from 3m/yr to just 1m/year

And of course, we should reduce flooding (and all other challenges) by avoiding the poorest of worlds and achieve the richest of worlds (where flooding is close to zero)

I show going vegetarian cuts 1-9% of emissions, use central 4.3%. Half lost in rebound, so ~2% actual reduction
My critics say 1-9% should be 1.5-9%. They cherry-pick 9%, round up to 10%, ignore rebound and claim 10%
In a new oped I show how going vegetarian won’t cut your greenhouse emissions much: not the often-promised 50% but more likely ~2%

I use a meta-study (not cherry-picking lowest or highest number): going vegetarian most likely reduces emissions 540kgCO₂e, 4.3% of per cap industrial emissions of 12,440kgCO₂e (20-35% of *diet emissions*)

I understand that this has not been a slow news week. It makes sense that this story hasn't received the attention it deserves.

But man, does it deserve attention.
One of the hundreds of speculative pieces published in the past few days about how white suburban moms might vote should have been tossed off the front page for this. This is extraordinary reporting. It has already, if true, had massive consequences.
If confirmed, heads must roll. If this happened, as they write, despite clear warnings, people need to lose their jobs from top to bottom.

But they won't.

Thread on buying sites that are making money versus building them from scratch.
First of all, most people shouldn't even think about trying this. Most who ask me about buying sites are just trying to get out of doing the work.

That won't work.

The skills make the money.

Build your own sites to learn the skills or spend your money and watch site tank.
That said, you CAN buy sites that are making money.

But 99% of sites for sale are bad purchases.

Why? Because the guys that make them are looking to cash out for as much as possible.

They'll sell high, not low. They'll bump traffic and pull out stops for valuation

I cut back on my tweeting in the last few weeks because I am in complete paroxysms of rage all the time.
#metoo sent me back through my own trauma, through the anger and despair that came with disbelief. I grappled with the reality that we would never get real justice, and that we had always been talking but had been consciously denied.
Then every new day with this POTUS and party in power. What else is there to say? "I told you so" sits on my tongue every day, burning my mouth with anger.
