I’m not delusional
I know there is very little chance
But that’s no reason to stop
Protest is about speaking up
Even when no one is listening
It is a fight in the face of futility
It’s David and Goliath
And we are still scrambling for our slingshot
On which the whole situation will turn
Tipping the scales that weigh us against the immense machine of government
Cumbersome, lumbering and creaking with bureaucracy
Massive and able to crush
More often though it will stride right over us
Casting its shadow over your movement
Shade blankets as it to put out the flame of our passion
It’s steps over us, in its shadow we are small
We do know our size
But regardless we continue to try
To make ourselves heard
To get it’s attention
To change its direction
Like herding a dinosaur
Or some other metaphor for the near impossible
Do I ditch that line or keep it? I like it but it’s sort of just tacked on at the end. Then I get lazy
