Minister @ernestoaraujo claimed today that the international press never referred to Kim Jong-Un as a dictator before his meeting with Trump. As we believe that the minister isn’t a liar, only an ignorant antiglobalist, let’s remember how the press treated KJU in the past.
In 2010, even before the death of Kim Jong-Un’s father, German tabloid @BILD already referred to little Kim as the “new dictator”.
In 2011, @nytimes referred to KJU’s father as a dictator in his obituary. The dictator treatment was used once more in 2014 and then again for a printed newspaper headline, in 2017. All of this happened before Trump’s meeting with the North Korean.
The English newspaper @Telegraph also treated him as a dictator, dear minister.
When Dennis Rodman travelled to North Korea for a meeting with Kim Jong-Un in 2013, Spanish newspaper @cribeocom also reffered to Mr. Jong-Un as a dictator.
In 2017, a headline by the @guardian didn’t refer to the North Korean leader as a dictator, but as a “ruthless and bellicose despot”. Surely that counts, right?

If it doesn’t, the article’s lead calls him a dictator anyway.
Norwegian newspaper @Blickch is also used to calling Trump’s little friend a dictator. This article is from 2017.
Portuguese website @observadorpt also used the term “dictator” before the North Korean’s meeting with the USA’s orange-skinned leader. Check out this article from 2016.
French newspapers @lemondefr & @Le_Figaro also used the word “dictator” to describe the North Korean leader before his meeting with Trump.
Even @UOL, a newspaper owned by @folha, has been calling him a dictator since 2014. *Maybe* it was mimicking the foreign press.
I’ll tell you who has refrained from criticising Kim Jong-Un’s belligerent and cruel regime, though, Mr. @ernestofaraujo: you.
