This is dumb. The 2017 valuation was performed before Tinder Gold launched, no one anticipated the effect it would have, every estimate at the time had Tinder in the $3-$4B range. Tinder Gold crushed expectations.

It's interesting to think about why Tinder Gold worked so well. Can the Likes You feature of Gold, which is the key feature, can be thought of as a status as a service function, since while it is not public, it allows one to celebrate their own desirability? @eugenewei
