For the perennial little shits who replied “duh, doh, why are you surprised,” no one is “surprised.” The exciting part of this tweet is that we have specific evidence of King’s ties to organized racism, not that it is “surprising.”

When the most racist person you can think of, like Steve King, says “I’m not a racist,” please hear the omnipresent subtext of that statement, which all racists snicker to one another in private:
“It ain’t racist if it’s true.”

When racists like Steve King deny racism, they’re really asserting is they perceive skin color as a TRUE badge of inferiority, not a badge assigned by prejudice. He is asserting white supremacy as an axiomatic quality that is therefore not a “bias.” Be clear.
