@HLGuniversity, would you still give Walker Moore an HONORary doctorate if you knew he would lie about performing an exorcism? I'm asking for the broken, 19 y/o I came home as after interning for him. I'm not her anymore, though. Now I have a voice, and I have a LOT to say. 1/16

I remember Walker using the title of "doctor" so proudly. I was young and naive when I met him; I thought the title was worth something, too. it made me trust him more, I think. You should have chosen better, @HLGuniversity . I didn't understand how the system worked, though.2/16

Walker Moore didn't have to do anything to EARN his doctorate, except to convince his friends he deserved it. That is easy enough in a system with as much corruption as the #SBC. @HLGuniversity was full of Walker's friends when I was involved back then, so he gained power. 3/16

Men give and keep power in that system based on the friendships they have. I see now that that is what happened with my pastors. My pastor, Joe Braden, at @FBCSaintPeters and youth pastor, @bobfeeler from @Northroadchurch, protected their friend. They let him keep his power. 4/16

They were supposed to be shepherds, protecting their flock. I agonized over how these men that knew me could believe @AweStarMissions' lie and continue to support him, but now I see that this is what so many "men of God" do in that system. The corrupt cover for the corrupt. 5/16

Bob, Joe, and Walker have kept their power all of these years. They have convinced the people around them that they are spiritual leaders. People listen to them as their authorities, believing these men listen to and speak for God. They made me believe God didn't care. 6/16

I'll never forget walking into my scheduled meeting with @bobfeeler to discuss the horrors I had endured. He was wearing an @AweStarMissions shirt. I couldn't breathe. He then told me to focus on my own sins and not the sin of others. Walker was his friend. @Northroadchurch 7/16

@bobfeeler didn't let me tell him what happened. I had been a leader in his youth group. He made me feel like I was important to him, to our church, to God for so many years. Then he abandoned me when I was traumatized without even trying to seek the truth. @Northroadchurch 8/16

Joe told me he believed me, but he remained on Walker's board of directors. He told my parents he would NEVER send his kids with Walker, but he allowed kids from other families, who didn't know the truth about Walker, to go. This is your spiritual leader, @FBCSaintPeters 9/16

They were my spiritual leaders once, too. They led me into years of hell. Shame overtook my life because I couldn't just "focus on my own sin." I battled nightmares and flashbacks of my arms being held down in an exorcism, and I thought those things were because of MY sin. 10/16

That is the power pastors hold, so it seems pretty important that the people who trust these men know ALL of the facts they kept from others. These truths have been buried for a really long time, and I'm sure these men wish they would have stayed there. @FBCSaintPeters 11/16

I would tag Walker, but a few months ago, he made his account private after I followed him. Perhaps, that was just a coincidence. I like to imagine, though, that he saw my picture, and he felt a wave of fear rush through him. I used to be the one SO afraid. @AweStarMissions 12/16

He retired as president of @AweStarMissions, recently. The new president was the second person in the room during my exorcism, and she is the one who was holding my arms down. 13/16

I struggle with where to put her in my story because she was first a victim of Walker. I hoped she had escaped him. I hoped she was able to get help. When I found out she is now the president and has profited off of this corrupt organization, I felt sadness AND anger. 14/16

I wonder if she will be brave and stand up for truth if Walker chooses to deny it all still. She was in the rooms. She participated. She could corroborate everything I say. She could choose to do the right thing now, after all these years. Will you, @peggynunley? 15/16

The truth could set us both free, @peggynunley. The truth is important. It SHOULD be to someone who wants to be a "godly" leader, don't you think?

Those who lie to protect their reputations should be held accountable. It is what your bible says, in fact. 16/16
